A Bit About Us
Our Aim
The Community Association for West Hampstead (CAWH) aims to improve the life, health, and social wellbeing of the whole community in West Hampstead, particularly children, young people and people at risk of isolation. We play an important role in bringing people together and helping to make West Hampstead a cohesive community and an enjoyable, inclusive and sustainable neighbourhood.
Services
We run a whole range of activities from our community centre and venues around West Hampstead, including Dance for Fitness (Zumba) and Movement and Strength for Men, Art, ESOL, Book Club, Carpentry Course, Yoga, Ballet for Children, Baby Massage, Community Lunch, and much more! We also hire our hall out for private use. Together with our kitchen it is ideal for parties and meetings.
Get Involved
Volunteers help promote the Charity's work, run and support classes, and distribute leaflets. Volunteers currently teach ESOL, and assist in classes and events. If you have a skill to share, we want to hear about it.
All of the Charity Trustees are local volunteers who bring their skills, knowledge and experience to manage the strategic direction and vision of the organisation. Why not join us? We are particularly keen to hear from people who have experience in the areas of Human Resources, Fundraising and Financial Management.
Who Funds Us?
CAWH is an independent Charity. We rely on funding from Trusts and Foundations, hall hire income, donations, charges for activities, and fundraising events. We do not receive a regular local government grant.
We run the CAWH 101 Club, which has a monthly draw for a prize of £100 in return for a stake of £5 a month; we aim to raise £5000 a year once we reach our target of 101 members. Our club is supported by a generous donor.
