SumUp BACS
Film Club: RKO 281 (1999) and Citizen Kane
Description
We now know the film as CITIZEN KANE, but in 1940 Hearst was still very much alive and litigious, and RKO 281 takes its title from the studio's secret code-name for the project.
SPECIAL GUEST: The film’s score won an Emmy Award, and its composer, multi-talented musician JOHN ALTMAN will be present at the screening.
He'll tell us all about the film, his music, and other aspects of his career (including working with the Monty Python team on the Secret Policeman's Ball, on the soundtrack of James Cameron's TITANIC, with Quincy Jones, Nick Drake, Kevin Ayers, Bjork, Amy Winehouse, Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green, and a host of others).
The film stars Liev Schreiber, James Cromwell, Melanie Griffith, John Malkovich, and Roy Scheider.
